Van
transfer from Caraz to Portachuelo Pass 4,767m (45km, 2:30
hrs). The striking shapes of Huascarán, Huandoy, Chopicalqui
and Pisco fill in the view. Descending dirt road along 32
switch backs to land at the plain right at the feet of the
valley, rest at Llanganuco Lakes. Continue down to Chinan
Cocha for lunch and to recover energies to continue towards
the town of Huashao where our support vehicle will take us
back to Caraz.
